Sustainability Action Plans
As an output of the project, the participant tourism SMEs worked with their coaches to develop their sustainability action and implementation plans. These plans showed huge initiative and innovation in their compilation, using methods such as SWOT analysis, Circularity Index, basing their actions on the Sustainable Development Goals, and using the CE4RT Measurement Framework structure. A selection of these action plans are shown here.
- Viking Rafting – Iceland
- Asgard Beyond Part 1 – Actions for 2025 – Iceland

Innovation by participant SMEs through the CE4RT project
Through the online training programme in circular economy and regenerative tourism, 1:1 coaching for the participant SMEs and networking & knowledge exchange at on-line meet ups and in person Workshops on Wheels in Iceland and Ireland, the CE4RT participant SMEs have been inspired to develop some great innovations.
- Elding Whale Watching – Iceland: Circular economy upcycling of their textile waste and producing more sustainable products for their souvenir shop to meet green procurement targets.
- Muckross Creamery – Ireland: Inspired by Icelandic farm visit to produce Skyr from their waste skim milk.
- Browar Dukla – Poland: Inspired by the networking/knowledge exchange visit to Ireland to improve their storytelling and develop a creative product – a comic book – to accompany their brewery products.
